Udosen Youth Honorable Mention 2021
Andrea Udosen
Fairfield High School
Andrea Udosen is a Junior at Fairfield High School. She founded Fairfield for Change, a branch of the Fairfield Youth Coalition that advocates for diversity initiatives within the Fairfield City School district. This past summer, she coordinated a virtual conference with over 70 participants. This well attended and received conference helped expand Fairfield for Change into a highly collaborative group with nearly 20 members and four active subcommittees committed to promoting cultural competency and creating inclusive spaces. Andrea also explores the intersectionality between public health and STEM. She has developed award-winning chatbots that help people communicate and receive needed resources during the virtual era.
Andrea loves the way prevention work connects people, helps grow her communication skills and ultimately build bridges and close gaps in her community. She greatly appreciates the support and empowerment that the Fairfield Youth Coalition has afforded her. It has been crucial in helping her become a leader, advocate, and friend.
