Double Trouble: A Look at OVI in Ohio & the Enhanced Risks of Alcohol & Marijuana Use

Driving is a complex activity that takes someone’s full attention. But in today’s world there are many things that try to pull their attention from the road. By introducing substances into their body that impair judgement and physical skills, drivers only enhance the problem. In today’s session, we will discuss the current state of impaired driving in Ohio. We will also look at the dangers of alcohol and marijuana and the impact they have on driving when used together. Lastly, we will take a glance at how the pandemic has impacted the issue as well. At the end there will be a question-and-answer period to discuss the issues at hand.
Objectives
1. Participants will be able to develop an understanding of the current OVI status in Ohio
2. Participants will be able to recognize the dangers that both alcohol and marijuana bring to the roadways when used together
3. Participants will be able to explain what Ohio is doing to help address the problem
