Dr. Brian A. King of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

PreventionFIRST! hosted its one day behavioral health prevention regional conference on October 9 this year. 

The theme for the event was "Celebrating Member Coalitions-Tackling New Trends With Primary Prevention."

The conference is designed to bring community members and prevention professionals together from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana to strengthen coalitions and improve the impact of prevention in all local communities. CHES hours for public health professionals and prevention CEUS were available for the event. 

The keynote was Dr. Brian A. King who serves as the Deputy Director for Research Translation, Office on Smoking and Health for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. Dr. King provided a keynote address and breakout workshop session on the topic of vaping/Juuling, its impact on youth, policy and programs and how universal prevention strategies can be implemented to curtail this drug trend.
